Its mission is to support the dissemination of scientific research results, professional knowledge and interdisciplinary discussion in the field of new media, mediamatics and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<p>The journal creates a space for publishing original scientific and professional contributions that reflect the current challenges of the digital society and new approaches to the documentation, protection, interpretation and presentation of cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1220\" data-end=\"1264\"><strong>The journal accepts mainly the following types of contributions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1488\">\n<li data-section-id=\"fq3oq6\" data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1291\">original scientific studies,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"fq3oq6\" data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1291\">review articles,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"fq3oq6\" data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1291\">case studies,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"fq3oq6\" data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1291\">methodological contributions,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"fq3oq6\" data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1291\">professional discussion contributions,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"fq3oq6\" data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1291\">reviews of professional publications and multimedia works,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"fq3oq6\" data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1291\">reports from scientific and professional events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1490\" data-end=\"1532\"><strong>The thematic focus of the journal includes in particular:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1534\" data-end=\"2178\">\n<li>mediamatics and digital technologies,<\/li>\n<li>documentation, digitization and digital archiving of cultural heritage,<\/li>\n<li>presentation and interpretation of cultural heritage through new media,<\/li>\n<li>use of new media for education, popularization and accessibility of cultural heritage,<\/li>\n<li>innovations in the field of digital imaging, multimedia and interactive technologies,<\/li>\n<li>interdisciplinary approaches to research and presentation of cultural heritage,<\/li>\n<li>policies, legislative aspects and ethical issues of digital documentation and presentation of cultural heritage,<\/li>\n<li>cultural and creative industries,<\/li>\n<li>research of tangible and intangible cultural heritage,<\/li>\n<li>artificial intelligence and its use in the context of new media and cultural heritage,<\/li>\n<li>marketing, communication and promotion in the field of new media and cultural heritage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"2180\" data-end=\"2183\" \/>\n<h2 id=\"publikacna-politika\"><span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\">Publication policy<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2208\" data-end=\"2430\">The journal applies a <strong data-start=\"2233\" data-end=\"2301\">double-blind peer review<\/strong> system. Following an initial formal assessment, each manuscript is sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2432\" data-end=\"2478\"><strong>Manuscripts are evaluated primarily on the basis of:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2480\" data-end=\"2679\">\n<li data-section-id=\"l396ey\" data-start=\"2480\" data-end=\"2511\">originality and scientific contribution,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1p4j12s\" data-start=\"2512\" data-end=\"2536\">methodological quality,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"17x1f9t\" data-start=\"2537\" data-end=\"2568\">timeliness and relevance of the topic,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"19f115l\" data-start=\"2569\" data-end=\"2612\">logical structure and clarity of the text,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"cyxwy\" data-start=\"2613\" data-end=\"2679\">quality of the use of sources and compliance with citation standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2681\" data-end=\"2847\">The editorial board reserves the right to reject any manuscript that falls outside the journal\u2019s scope, does not meet the required formal requirements, or fails to satisfy the criteria of scientific quality.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2849\" data-end=\"2941\">Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the content, the linguistic quality of the manuscript, and compliance with ethical principles.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2943\" data-end=\"2946\" \/>\n<h2 id=\"konflikt-zaujmov\"><span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\">Conflict of interest<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2968\" data-end=\"3144\">Authors are required to disclose all financial, professional, or personal relationships that could influence the research results or the interpretation of the data presented in the manuscript.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3146\" data-end=\"3346\">Reviewers are required to inform the editorial office without delay of any conflict of interest that could affect the objectivity of their evaluation. If a conflict of interest exists, they must decline to review the manuscript.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3348\" data-end=\"3534\">Members of the editorial board do not participate in decisions regarding manuscripts where an actual or potential conflict of interest exists. Such manuscripts are evaluated by another designated member of the editorial board.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"3536\" data-end=\"3539\" \/>\n<h2 id=\"vydavatel-a-frekvencia-vydavania\"><span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\">Publisher and publication frequency<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3577\" data-end=\"3601\">The journal is published by:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3603\" data-end=\"3737\"><strong data-start=\"3603\" data-end=\"3647\">Institute of Mediamatics and Cultural Heritage<\/strong><br data-start=\"3647\" data-end=\"3650\" \/>University of \u017dilina<br data-start=\"3678\" data-end=\"3681\" \/>Univerzitn\u00e1 8215\/1<br data-start=\"3699\" data-end=\"3702\" \/>010 26 \u017dilina<br data-start=\"3715\" data-end=\"3718\" \/>Slovak Republic<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3739\" data-end=\"3773\">The journal has been published since <strong data-start=\"3764\" data-end=\"3772\">2014<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3775\" data-end=\"3963\">Since <strong data-start=\"3783\" data-end=\"3791\">2016<\/strong>, it has been published <strong data-start=\"3818\" data-end=\"3835\">twice a year<\/strong>. The editorial board reserves the right to publish thematic or special issues focused on selected topics or conference proceedings.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3965\" data-end=\"4032\">The journal accepts manuscripts in Slovak, Czech, and English.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"4034\" data-end=\"4037\" \/>\n<h2 id=\"zasady-archivacie-casopisov\"><span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\">Journal archiving policy<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"4070\" data-end=\"4281\">The journal ensures the long-term availability and preservation of all published issues in accordance with the applicable legislation of the Slovak Republic governing legal deposit copies and the preservation of published outputs.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4283\" data-end=\"4458\">Printed editions are archived in the University Library of the University of \u017dilina and through the legal deposit system in designated libraries of the Slovak Republic.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4460\" data-end=\"4640\">Electronic editions are permanently available on the journal\u2019s website. The editorial board also supports the self-archiving of published articles in institutional and subject repositories.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"4642\" data-end=\"4645\" \/>\n<h2 id=\"zasady-otvoreneho-pristupu\"><span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\">Open access policy<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"4677\" data-end=\"4869\">The journal follows an <strong data-start=\"4704\" data-end=\"4762\">Immediate Open Access<\/strong> policy based on the principle that free access to the results of scientific research promotes the global exchange of knowledge. This Open Access policy has been in place since the journal was established in 2014.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4871\" data-end=\"4974\">All published articles are freely available online without any embargo period and without access charges.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4976\" data-end=\"5213\">Articles are published under the <strong data-start=\"5012\" data-end=\"5074\">Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)<\/strong> licence, which permits sharing, distribution, adaptation, and further use, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and the source of publication.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5215\" data-end=\"5315\">The journal currently <strong data-start=\"5236\" data-end=\"5314\">does not charge any fees for manuscript submission or article publication (APC)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"5317\" data-end=\"5320\" \/>\n<h2 id=\"zasady-plagiatorstva\"><span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\">Plagiarism policy<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"5358\" data-end=\"5440\">The editorial board does not tolerate plagiarism or any other forms of unethical publishing practices.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5442\" data-end=\"5475\"><strong>The following are considered unacceptable in particular:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"5477\" data-end=\"5709\">\n<li data-section-id=\"vu9nf8\" data-start=\"5477\" data-end=\"5548\">appropriation of another person&#8217;s text or research results without proper citation,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"j71wry\" data-start=\"5549\" data-end=\"5569\">self-plagiarism,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1t1o0ht\" data-start=\"5570\" data-end=\"5620\">falsification or fabrication of research data,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"voq0ui\" data-start=\"5621\" data-end=\"5647\">duplicate publication,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"dg6vak\" data-start=\"5648\" data-end=\"5709\">simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to multiple journals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"5711\" data-end=\"5893\">In cases of suspected plagiarism or other serious breaches of publication ethics, the editorial board may reject the manuscript, suspend the peer-review process, or retract an already published article.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"5895\" data-end=\"5898\" \/>\n<h2 id=\"autorske-prava\"><span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\">Copyright<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"5918\" data-end=\"5971\">Authors retain the copyright to their works.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5973\" data-end=\"6133\">By granting permission for publication, authors grant the journal the right of first publication under the <strong data-start=\"6070\" data-end=\"6132\">Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)<\/strong> licence.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6135\" data-end=\"6451\">Authors may further distribute the published version of their article, deposit it in institutional repositories, publish it on personal websites, or include it in other works, provided that the original publication in the journal <em data-start=\"6369\" data-end=\"6450\">Mediamatics and Cultural Heritage \u2013 Journal of New Media and Cultural Heritage<\/em> is properly acknowledged.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"6453\" data-end=\"6456\" \/>\n<h2 id=\"etika-publikovania\"><span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\">Statement on publication ethics<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"6506\" data-end=\"6734\">The journal is committed to upholding the principles of transparency, integrity, and the highest ethical standards in scholarly publishing. In addressing ethical issues, the editorial board follows the recommendations of the <strong data-start=\"6691\" data-end=\"6733\">Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6736\" data-end=\"6762\"><strong>Authors are expected to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"6764\" data-end=\"6952\">\n<li data-section-id=\"se835v\" data-start=\"6764\" data-end=\"6795\">submit original work,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1p170sb\" data-start=\"6796\" data-end=\"6835\">present research results truthfully,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"b5x70m\" data-start=\"6836\" data-end=\"6867\">properly cite all sources used,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1rm817v\" data-start=\"6868\" data-end=\"6898\">disclose any conflicts of interest,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"c3206s\" data-start=\"6899\" data-end=\"6952\">ensure compliance with research ethics principles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"6954\" data-end=\"7033\">Reviewers are expected to evaluate manuscripts objectively, professionally, and confidentially.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"7035\" data-end=\"7230\">Editors ensure fair decision-making without discrimination based on gender, age, nationality, religion, institutional affiliation, or the political views of the authors.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"7232\" data-end=\"7397\">All parties involved\u2014authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher\u2014are required to comply with the principles of publication ethics and to support the integrity of scholarly communication.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"3433\" data-end=\"3436\" \/>\n<h2 id=\"apc\"><span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\">Article processing charges (APC)<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"350\" data-end=\"536\">The journal <strong data-start=\"358\" data-end=\"441\">Mediamatics and Cultural Heritage \u2013 Journal of New Media and Cultural Heritage<\/strong> does not charge authors any fees for manuscript submission, peer review, or article publication.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"538\" data-end=\"673\">Publishing in the journal is free of charge for authors. Likewise, readers are not required to pay any fees to access published articles.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"675\" data-end=\"879\">The journal is funded through institutional support provided by the publisher and other lawful sources of funding. Such funding has no influence on editorial decisions or the outcome of the peer-review process.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"881\" data-end=\"884\" \/>\n<h2 id=\"licencne-podmienky\"><span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\">Licensing terms<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"908\" data-end=\"1038\">All articles published in the journal are made available under the <strong data-start=\"975\" data-end=\"1037\">Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)<\/strong> licence.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1040\" data-end=\"1074\"><strong>This licence allows anyone to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1076\" data-end=\"1258\">\n<li data-section-id=\"17hrqeq\" data-start=\"1076\" data-end=\"1153\">copy and redistribute the published work in any medium or format,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"ta3n2m\" data-start=\"1154\" data-end=\"1207\">adapt, transform, and create derivative works,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"bc4ef1\" data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1258\">use the published content for commercial purposes,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1260\" data-end=\"1368\">provided that appropriate credit is given to the author(s), the source of publication is acknowledged, and any modifications are clearly indicated.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1370\" data-end=\"1484\">More information about the licence is available on the Creative Commons website:<br \/><a class=\"decorated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by\/4.0\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\" data-start=\"1440\" data-end=\"1484\">https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by\/4.0\/<\/a><\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1486\" data-end=\"1489\" \/>\n<h2 id=\"ai-rukopisy\"><span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\">Use of artificial ontelligence tools in manuscript preparation<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1556\" data-end=\"1676\">The journal acknowledges the growing use of artificial intelligence tools in scholarly work and establishes the following principles.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1678\" data-end=\"2014\">Authors may use artificial intelligence tools to support manuscript preparation, for example, for language editing, grammar checking, stylistic improvements, or technical assistance in data processing. The use of such tools must be transparently disclosed in the manuscript, including the name of the tool used and the extent of its use.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2016\" data-end=\"2162\">Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors of an article because they cannot assume responsibility for the content, integrity, or originality of scholarly work.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2164\" data-end=\"2345\">Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy of the data, the interpretation of the results, the proper citation of sources, and compliance with ethical principles, regardless of the use of artificial intelligence tools.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2347\" data-end=\"2552\">Without the editorial board\u2019s permission, reviewers must not upload complete manuscripts or substantial parts of unpublished manuscripts to publicly available artificial intelligence systems, in order to preserve the confidentiality of the peer-review process.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2554\" data-end=\"2557\" \/>\n<h2 id=\"staznosti-a-odvolania\"><span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\">Appeals and complaints procedure<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2638\" data-end=\"2813\">Authors have the right to appeal an editorial decision if they believe that a procedural error or an unfair evaluation occurred during the assessment of their manuscript.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2815\" data-end=\"2937\">Appeals must be submitted in writing to the editorial office and must include a justification of the objections together with any relevant supporting documentation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2939\" data-end=\"3183\">The Editor-in-Chief or a designated member of the editorial board will review all available documentation, including the reviewers\u2019 reports, and make a final decision. In justified cases, the manuscript may be submitted to an additional independent reviewer for evaluation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3185\" data-end=\"3431\">Complaints concerning publication ethics, conflicts of interest, copyright infringement, or unprofessional conduct by editors or reviewers will be handled confidentially, impartially, and in accordance with the recommendations of the <strong data-start=\"3388\" data-end=\"3430\">Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"3433\" data-end=\"3436\" \/>\n<h2 id=\"opravy-a-stiahnutia\"><span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\">Corrections and retractions policy<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3506\" data-end=\"3723\">If serious errors, inaccuracies, or breaches of ethical principles are identified, the editorial board may publish a correction (<em>corrigendum<\/em>), an expression of concern, or retract the article.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3725\" data-end=\"3932\">The decision to issue a correction or retract an article is made by the editorial board after a thorough review of all available evidence and consultation with the authors. All changes will be clearly identified and publicly documented.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"3934\" data-end=\"3937\" \/>\n<h2 id=\"ochrana-osobnych-udajov\"><span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\">Personal data protection<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3966\" data-end=\"4122\">Personal data of authors, reviewers, and members of the editorial board collected during the publication process will be used exclusively for the administration and publication of the journal.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4124\" data-end=\"4278\">Such data will not be disclosed to third parties or used for any other purpose without the consent of the individuals concerned, except where required by applicable law.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4280\" data-end=\"4464\">Personal data are processed in accordance with the applicable legislation of the Slovak Republic and the European Union, in particular <strong>Regulation (EU) 2016\/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (GDPR)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"3992\" data-end=\"3995\" \/>\n<h2 id=\"digital-preservation\"><span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\">Digital preservation policy<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"264\" data-end=\"475\">The journal <strong data-start=\"272\" data-end=\"355\">Mediamatics and Cultural Heritage \u2013 Journal of New Media and Cultural Heritage<\/strong> is committed to ensuring the long-term availability and preservation of all published articles and related digital objects.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"477\" data-end=\"694\">Electronic editions of the journal are permanently available through the journal&#8217;s official website and are archived in accordance with the publisher\u2019s internal regulations and the applicable legislation of the Slovak Republic.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"696\" data-end=\"765\">The publisher ensures the preservation of digital content through:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"767\" data-end=\"1086\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1y5wpnf\" data-start=\"767\" data-end=\"823\">regular backups of the editorial system and databases,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"fqqs8f\" data-start=\"824\" data-end=\"923\">storage of electronic versions of published issues on the servers of the University of \u017dilina,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"80xxvc\" data-start=\"924\" data-end=\"1008\">archiving of printed editions in the University Library of the University of \u017dilina,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"14zybzz\" data-start=\"1009\" data-end=\"1086\">the legal deposit system in accordance with the applicable legislation of the Slovak Republic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1088\" data-end=\"1282\">Should the journal cease publication, the publisher will ensure that all previously published issues remain publicly accessible through a trusted institutional archive or repository.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1284\" data-end=\"1474\">The editorial board also encourages authors to deposit published versions of their articles in institutional and subject repositories, thereby enhancing the accessibility and long-term preservation of scholarly outputs.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1789\" data-end=\"1792\" \/>\n<h2 id=\"funding-disclosure\"><span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\">Funding disclosure policy<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1877\" data-end=\"2114\">The journal <strong data-start=\"1885\" data-end=\"1968\">Mediamatics and Cultural Heritage \u2013 Journal of New Media and Cultural Heritage<\/strong> requires authors to transparently disclose all sources of funding that supported the research presented or the preparation of the manuscript.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2116\" data-end=\"2218\">Authors are required to include a separate section in the manuscript entitled <strong data-start=\"2179\" data-end=\"2197\">&#8222;Funding&#8220;<\/strong> in which they specify:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2220\" data-end=\"2417\">\n<li data-section-id=\"fbxurf\" data-start=\"2220\" data-end=\"2270\">the name of the funding organisation or institution,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"xu3pc2\" data-start=\"2271\" data-end=\"2326\">the project, grant, or contract number, where applicable,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1dgqnim\" data-start=\"2327\" data-end=\"2417\">information about any financial support received from public or private entities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2419\" data-end=\"2500\">If the research was not supported by external funding, authors should include the following statement: <strong style=\"color: #6b8e25;\" data-start=\"2504\" data-end=\"2569\">&#8222;This research received no external funding.&#8220;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2571\" data-end=\"2596\">Alternatively, the following English wording may be used: <span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\"><strong data-start=\"2600\" data-end=\"2649\">&#8222;This research received no external funding.&#8220;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2651\" data-end=\"2791\">Disclosure of funding sources contributes to the transparency of scholarly publishing and helps identify potential conflicts of interest. Failure to disclose relevant funding information may be regarded as a breach of publication ethics and may result in the rejection of the manuscript or other editorial actions.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2976\" data-end=\"2979\" \/>\n<h2 id=\"transparency\"><span style=\"color: #6b8e25;\">Transparency and best practice policy<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3066\" data-end=\"3283\">The journal is committed to adhering to the principles of transparency and best practice in scholarly publishing.
